This year, 2008, a pivotal year for TurningWheels For Kids

As a grassroots charity with the need to search out bicycle funding each year, time becomes the limiting factor ~ all Board members have full time jobs. It is only because of the amazing people that participate on the Board and all our wonderful supporters that, each year, we are able to continue to come up with the funds needed to put kids on bikes.

This year we have dared to dream even bigger

This year we will organize bike repair and safety clinics. The kids served by TWFK come from low-income families. I have no doubt that these children are loved by their parents but the resources for a simple bike repair are often not available ~ a flat tire can become a retired bike. Through neighborhood repair clinics we will help children learn how to maintain their bike and provide a reliable source for needed supplies.

Our goal

Keep children on bikes, keep them outdoors playing, happy and healthy, and instill life-long habits of activity and exercise, build a sense of self-reliance that in turn builds self-esteem. Please consider a donation or hands-on help. Help us help the kids right here in our local area. They are depending on us.

• 4,000 bikes to children in 3 years
• Provides volunteer opportunity for over 600 supporters annually
